Lights, Camera, INTERACTION.
Symbolic Interactionism

Meaning

Ever wondered why we act different towards our friends, our family and strangers?

It's because our actions are based from the meanings we give to these people.

Language

We assume. We assume because that's what we all do. We take things for what we just know. We don't usually think harder and find out that what we thought was wrong.

Thought

We usually have this so-called two second delay when we talk to others. It's because we anticipate how the listener would react to what we are going to say. We tend to place ourselves in the shoes of others, pretending we're them and try to feel how they're going to feel.

Self

I am an object. I am what others tell me who I am. I am me.

Community

As we grow, we mold into what the community is. We take in the roles we've acquired through the years.

This is Symbolic Interactionism.
This is why humans are called pragmatic actors.
Our acting is influenced by the social norms.
